My Makeup looks cakey...Updated a month ago

Sometimes when we apply our makeup it can turn out thick, dry, patchy, and there are a few different reasons it can look like this

- If the skin isn't hydrated

- Using the wrong products for your skin type

- Not exfoliating frequently

- Might be using too much product on application

Here are some tips to help your foundation look flawless:

Exfoliate weekly (especially if your product is gathering or clinging to certain areas)

Important for both dry and oily skin

Dry skin - removes dead skin cells

Oily skin - removes any excess build-up of oil from the pores

- Moisturise your skin - use a serum and moisturiser suited to your skin. We love HydraGlo and Cloud Cream. Use Cloud Cream at night only if you are on the oily side!

- Prep with a primer suitable for your skin type

Oily – Beauty base oil control
Dry – Beauty base rose golden/pearl/original
Combination – can use oil control in centre and/or beauty base on cheeks

- Select makeup products according to your skin type / desired look or finish

- Avoid using too much powder especially in areas that you are dry
If you need to use a powder, use one that is finely milled such as velvet veil

Use a setting spray
